When she was fifteen, Catherine studied ballet in the Perm State Ballet School in Russia, fully intending to become a ballerina. She spent most of her time gazing out the windows however, dreaming up stories about dragons in the endless Russian snow. After two years of blistered feet, she returned to school in Dublin, and to Trinity College where she read philosophy. She then attended Oxford Aviation in England and is now a pilot with Aer Arann. She lives in Dublin and is finally getting round to those dragons.
The Eyekeeper of Ginza is her first novel for children.
