Tara Heavey was born in London and moved to Ireland at the age of eleven. She read modern English and History at Trinity College Dublin before studying law and practising as a solicitor for five years. She has two children and lives in County Kilkenny. She has written three novels so far:
A Brush with Love (Tivoli) which went straight to number one in the Irish bestseller lists
Eating Peaches (Tivoli); Germany(Goldmann); Spain(Plaza y Janes)
Making It Up As I Go Along (Tivoli)
She has also contributed stories to the popular anthologies, Moments, and Mum’s the Word.
Her next novel, Sowing the Seeds of Love, will be published in March 2009 by Penguin Ireland. Simon and Schuster, US (Pocket Books), will be publishing Sowing The Seeds of Love (under the title, The Winter Garden) in autumn, 2010.
