Biography – Originally from Cork, Sarah graduated from the full time professional acting course at the Gaiety School of Acting in June 2006. Since graduating Sarah has appeared in Stuart Carolan’s new play The Empress of India directed by Garry Hynes for Druid Theatre at the Town Hall Galway and at the Abbey Theatre for Dublin Theatre Festival 2006. Sarah went on to tour Ireland as Mary Lacey in Druid’s hugely acclaimed touring production of John B Keane’s The Year of the Hiker and recently appeared in Druid’s acclaimed production of The Playboy of the Western World at the Tokyo International Arts Festival, Japan. Film and television includes: Bachelor’s Walk – Christmas Special (RTE); 2006 presenter of The Den Tots Bandstand (RTE) and Speed Dating directed by Tony Herbert. Sarah appeared as Imelda in Eden the feature film based on Eugene O’Brien’s award winning play of the same name, directed by Declan Recks for Samson Films/RTE which featured at the Tribeca Festival, New York at which it won two awards and at festivals across the USA and Europe to huge critical acclaim. Sarah also appeared to much acclaim as Cactus in Gina Moxley’s play Danti Dan directed by David Horan for Galloglass Theatre Company on tour across Ireland.
Sarah secured the leading role of CATHLEEN in the Canadian/Irish feature film Love and Savagery directed by John N Smith shot on location in Ireland and Newfoundland and produced by Morag Loves Company, Subotica and Park Ex Pictures which appeared at the Chicago, Montreal and Toronto Film Festivals in 2009.
Sarah recently appeared in The Death of Harry Leon, a new play directed by David Horan for Ouroboros Theatre Company at Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin. Sarah most recently appeared with Anita Reeves and Hilda Fay in the award-winning production, Little Gem directed by Paul Meade for Guna Nua Theatre Company at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2009 (Traverse 2) where it won many awards including several Stage award nominations, numerous five star reviews and where it became the first ever Irish production to win the Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award which meant the show transferred to The Flea Theater in Manhattan prior to it’s run at the Peacock Theatre, Dublin. Sarah recently filmed the role of Rose in My Brothers, a feature film directed by Paul Fraser for Treasure Films and most recently filmed the role of Sinead Mulligan in The Guard opposite Brendan Gleeson, directed by John MacDonagh for Reprisal Films and Element Pictures.
