Jane has appeared in many productions at the Abbey and Peacock theatres including; The Last Apache Reunion, The Crucible, Footfalls, A Crucial Week in the Life of a Grocer’s Assistant, The Playboy of the Western World, The Secret Fall of Constance Wilde (which toured to the Melbourne Arts Festival and The Barbican), The Wake (which toured to the Edinburgh Festival), Saint Joan, The Rivals, Dancing at Lughnasa, The House (Irish Times/ESB Best Actress Nomination), Memory of Water and most recently as Mary in Bailegangaire as part of the Tom Murphy season, which recently returned to the Peacock. Her numerous appearances at the Gate Theatre include the title role in Jane Eyre, Pygmalion and Not I at the Lincoln Center, New York, as part of the Gate’s Beckett Festival. With Druid Theatre Company she appeared in Tis Pity She’s a Whore, A Little Like Drowning, The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs and The Beauty Queen of Leenane for Druid and the Royal Court at the Duke of York, London. She has also appeared for Rough Magic in Digging For Fire and The Way of the World. A co-founder of Bespoke Theatre Company, she appeared in the title role in Electra directed by Frank McGuinness at the Project Arts Centre, in Boston Marriage directed by Loveday Ingram and in Teja Verdes directed by Roisin McBrinn all produced by Bespoke Theatre at the Project Arts Centre.
Film and television includes; Single Handed II, Stolen Child, The Tudors, Attracta, Heartline, Fair City, Black Day at Black Rock, Veronica Guerin and as Hannah Arnold in Benedict Arnold with Kelsey Grammer and Aidan Quinn. Jane appeared in the Soho Theatre (West End) transfer of Rough Magic’s production of The Sugar Wife directed by Lynne Parker.Jane received the 2007 Best Actress Award in the Irish Times Theatre Awards for her performance in The Alice Trilogy, directed by Tom Murphy, Peacock Theatre. Jane appeared in Rachel West’s production of Splendour at the Project Arts Centre, Dublin for which she was nominated for an Irish Times Theatre Award (Best Supporting Actress) for 2008. Jane recently appeared as Lady Byram in her second season of The Tudors (Showtime/BBC) and will appear in her third season in 2010. She recently completed filming on Wild Decembers, directed by Anthony Byrne for Touchpaper Films/RTE and due for transmission later this year. In theatre, Jane most recently appeared in Solemn Mass For A Full Moon In Summer directed by Tom Creed for Rough Magic Theatre Company at the Project Arts Centre, Dublin. Jane will soon appear in No Escape, directed by Roisin McBrinn at the Peacock Theatre, Dublin. Jane was most recently seen in Perrier’s Bounty directed by Ian Fitzgibbon for Parallel Films.
