Biography – Donna trained at the Brendan Smith Academy and the College of Music. Previous appearances at the Abbey and Peacock theatres include: Dolly West’s Kitchen (Abbey/Bristol Old Vic), The Passion of Jerome (Peacock), A Woman of No Importance (Abbey), and, most recently, The Cherry Orchard (Abbey). For the Gate Theatre, Donna’s appearances include: Therese Raquin, A Dublin Carol, As You Like It, Aristocrats (also Lincoln Centre Festival, New York), Cyrano de Bergerac, Uncle Vanya (also Lincoln Centre Festival, New York), A Streetcar Named Desire, The Heiress, Great Expectations, She Stoops to Conquer, Pride and Prejudice, Gates of Gold, A Dolls House and more recently Old Times. Other theatre work includes: Taking Steps (Gaiety Theatre), King Lear (Second Age), The Marlboro Man (Project Arts Centre), Don’t Dress For Dinner (Andrew’s Lane), and The Merchant of Venice, Othello (Playwrights and Actors). Donna’s film and television appearances include: The Tudors (seasons 3 and 4), Bachelor’s Walk (Series II and III), Ballykissangel (RTE), Vicious Circle (BBCNI), The Bill (UTV), Old New Borrowed Blue, Family (BBC), Fair City (RTE), Ella’s mother in Ella Enchanted (Miramax Films).Donna recently appeared on the new TV series Rough Diamond and on the 4-part drama series, Single-Handed, for RTE. She most recently appeared in John Carney’s new feature film Zonad which premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh 2010. She appeared as Miss Havesham in Great Expectations directed by Alan Stanford at the Gate Theatre, Dublin and more recently as Sally Brass in The Old Curiosity Shop at the Gate Theatre, Dublin. Donna most recently appeared in All My Sons at the Gate Theatre, Dublin, directed by Robin Lefevre. Donna will soon appear in Arcadia by Tom Stoppard at the Gate Theatre, Dublin, directed by Patrick Mason.
