Daisy Jacobs is an award-winning animator, writer and director. She studied at Central St Martin’s School of Art, after which she then studied Animation Direction at the National Film and Television School, graduating in February 2014.
Her MA short film, The Bigger Picture won a BAFTA this year and was also nominated for an Academy Award.
The Bigger Picture was also awarded the Cinefondation Third Prize at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. The film won both the Crystal for Graduation film at Annecy International Animation Festival and Creative Innovation in a Short Film at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, along with a number of other prestigious awards on the international festival circuit.
Daisy won the The FremantleMedia UK New Talent Award at the Women in Film and Television Awards 2014.
Daisy’s previous films are Tosh (2012) and Don Justino de Neve (2011). For Tosh, she was nominated by the BFI for an Outstanding Achievement Award for a Young Person and won prizes at national festivals. Don Justino de Neve was a finalist in the Virgin Media Shorts competition and a semi-finalist for the Adobe Design Achievement Award. Daisy’s work was also exhibited in the V&A for London Design Week.
Daisy is currently working on her new film, Full Story.
