Mikhail has recently completed shooting on Andrey Zvyagintsev’s new film, Loveless in Moscow and before that filmed Jim Sheridan’s drama, The Secret Scripture.
A winner at Poland’s 2014 Camerimage Festival (the world’s leading festival for the art of cinematography), he won the top honours for his work on Andrey Zvyagintsev’s Leviathan. Other awards include a Golden Osella award at the 67th Venice Film Festival for Silent Souls. He has photographed all of Andrey Zvyagintsev’s films, including The Return, The Banishment, Elena and most recently the Cannes Official Competition selection, Leviathan.
Mikhail worked as cinematographer on the feature film Miss Julie directed by Liv Ullmann starring Colin Farrell and Jessica Chastain.
