Biography – Peter’s appearances at Abbey Theatre, Dublin include Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards The Somme (which also toured the U.K., the Barbican London and Europe), A Whistle in the Dark, Child’s Christmas in Wales, Madigan’s Lock, Shadow of a Gunman and in Aidan Matthews Communion in the Abbey’s Peacock theatre. Peter appeared at the Gate Theatre, Dublin as Michael in Joe Dowling’s recent production of Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa. He appeared as Christy in the West End production of Martin McDonagh’s The Lieutentant of Inishmore at The Garrick. Other theatre credits include; Shadow of a Gunman, Death of A Salesman, Philadelphia Here I Come!, Whistle in The Dark, Translations, Fathers and Sons (Gaiety, Dublin), A Touch of The Poet, The Country Boy, Beauty Queen of Leenane (Druid), Bedbound (Dublin Theatre Festival 2000), Someone to Watch Over Me (Drum Theatre), Plough and The Stars (U.K. Tour and West End), A Dolls House (U.K. Tour, West End and Broadway), The Forest, Mutabilitie and Making History (Royal National Theatre). He also appeared in the award winning production of Mark Doherty’s new play Trad (Galway Arts Festival, Dublin Theatre Festival, Edinburgh Festival (winner of Fringe First Award in 2005) and Bush Theatre, London) and in Marina Carr’s new play Woman and Scarecrow at the Royal Court Theatre, London. Peter appeared in Anna Karenina directed by Michael Barker Caven at the Gate Theatre, Dublin and more recently as Reverend Hale in The Crucible directed by Patrick Mason at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin. He appeared in The Final Shot directed by Tim Roseman at Theatre 503 in London and in the leading role of Yank in The Hairy Ape by Eugene O’Neill directed by Pat Kiernan for Corcadorca Theatre Company at the Cork Midsummer Festival and recently appeared in the touring production of Playboy of the Western World and Shadow of the Glen for Druid Theatre Company in North America. Peter appeared in Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa at Birmingham Repertory Company in a production directed by Tamara Harvey. Peter recently appeared as Willie in Samuel Beckett’s Happy Days opposite Pauline McLynn as Winnie at the Sheffield Crucible (2011) which received huge critical and popular acclaim. He most recently appeared in Owen McCafferty’s new play The Absence of Women directed by Rachel O’Riordan at the Lyric Theatre, Belfast and the Tricycle Theatre, Kilburn.

T.V. includes:The Tudors (Season II, Showtime/BBC), My Boy Jack (ITV), The Bill (ITV), Paradise Club (BBC), Minder (ITV), Coronation Street (ITV), On Home Ground (RTE). Peter appeared in a guest lead in Single Handed III for Touchpaper TV/RTE which aired to over 4 million viewers in the UK on ITV1 in 2009.
Film includes: Eat The Peach, The Butcher Boy, Dancing at Lughnasa, A Love Divided, Breakfast On Pluto. Peter most recently appeared as Ciaran O’Malley in Single Handed (The Drowning Man) on ITV1 as Dan in Channel 4’s acclaimed series Cast Offs.
