John trained for the screen with the Irish Films Actors Studio and for the stage on Dublin’s gruelling profit share circuit. Film credits include Rick Larkin’s feature Satellites and Meteorites for I-Wire Films due for release in 2009. Television appearances include BBC 3’s Be More Ethnic, One Night Stand (BBC NI) as well as The Third Policeman’s Ball (TV3) and The Liffey Laughs (RTE). John’s last theatrical role was in Robert Massey’s debut offering Deadline, staged by Lane Productions. Other theatre credits include Stages (Civic Theatre) and Ergophobia (Teachers Club) John’s sporadic bouts of acting unemployment are filled with performing as a stand up comedian and he has just returned from the ultra prestigious invite only Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival.
John most recently appeared as Bush in Rank a new play by Robert Massey, directed by Jim Culleton for Fishamble Theatre Company as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival which successfully transferred to the Tricycle Theatre in London in late 2008.
