A native of Donaghmore Co. Tyrone, James came to Dublin to study at the Gaiety School of Acting – The National Theatre School of Ireland. Formerly he was a member of the Dungannon Footlights, appearing in The Drugs Don’t Work in the title role of Cedric. James was awarded the prestigious Gaiety Theatre Bursary Award in 2010. As part of the GSA‘s Manifesto programme he developed a one man performance, Disappeared, under the direction and tutelage of Jimmy Fay and staged it as part of the Manifesto Showcase in the Complex, Smithfield. Credits include Blood Wedding and Bee Loud Glade at the Project Arts Centre, Toxic by Michelle Read at the Project Arts Centre, Corcadorca Theatre Company’s production of The Winter’s Tale, dir Pat Kiernan at the Cork Opera House and Roddy Doyle’s translation of Gogol’s The Government Inspector directed by Jimmy Fay at the Abbey Theatre.
