Rory Nolan

Biography - Rory graduated from the Gaiety School of Acting in 2003. Previous work includes: Edward in Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, Nocturne by Adam Rapp (Cardboardbox Theatre Company, Dublin Fringe Festival 2002), What the Dead Want and To Be Confirmed by Alex Johnston (GSOA). Rory made his post-graduate debut in The Drunkard a new adaptation by Tom Murphy, directed by Lynne Parker for B*spoke Theatre Company and the Galway Arts Festival, which transferred to the Olympia Theatre, Dublin. Since then Rory has appeared in leading roles in The Performance Corporation's production of Dr. Ledbetter's Experiment for Kilkenny Arts Festival (as Dr. Ledbetter) and in leading roles (Dromedary/Betjemin) in Rough Magic Theatre Companies acclaimed production of the new musical Improbable Frequency directed by Lynne Parker for the Dublin Theatre Festival 2004 which transferred to the Abbey Theatre in February 2005 and to Poland in 2006. He has also appeared in Lynne Parker's production of Heavenly Bodies at the Peacock, Second Age's production of King Lear directed by Alan Stanford and The Wiremen by Shay Healy at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin. Rory appeared in The Yokohama Delegation for Performance Corporation, directed by Jo Mangan for Kilkenny Arts Festival 2005, A Christmas Carol directed by Alan Stanford at the Gate Theatre, Dublin, The Taming of the Shrew directed by Lynne Parker for Rough Magic Theatre at the Project and in the title role of Dr Ledbetters Experiment for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2006. Rory appeared as all three princes in Sleeping Beauty directed by Roisin McBrinn at the Helix Theatre for Landmark Productions. Rory was nominated for Best Male Performer for his performances in The Evils of Tobacco and The Bear for Mangiare Theatre at the Dublin Theatre Festival Fringe 2006. Rory recently appeared in Rough Magic's new production of Don Carlos directed by Lynne Parker at the Project Arts Centre and as the Band Captain in Corcadorca's celebrated production of Woyzeck, directed by Pat Kiernan at the Cork Midsummer Festival 2007. Rory appeared Is This About Sex? a new play by Christian O'Reilly directed by Lynne Parker for Rough Magic Theatre Company which opened in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and appeared in the Dublin Theatre Ferstival and on tour in 2007. Rory most recently appeared as Ross O'Carroll Kelly in The Last Days of the Celtic Tiger by Paul Howard, directed by Jimmy Fay for Landmark Productions/MCD at the Olympia Theatre.
